At SafeLife Inc. ("SafeLife," "we," "our," or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy describes our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing information we may collect when you use our Beacon browser extension (the "Extension"). Our Extension is designed to score companies in real-time about their data practices and credibility while minimizing the collection of your personal information.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Usage Information

We collect de-identified usage information that helps us understand how the Extension is being used and how we can improve it. This includes:

  • Extension Interaction Data: Number of times you click on the Extension, interaction with various features, and your engagement patterns.

  • Site Information: URLs of websites where you activate the Extension to see company scores.

  • Extension Performance Metrics: Statistics on Extension performance, including technical data about your browser environment to help identify and fix bugs.

  • Feature Usage: Which Extension features you use, including viewing company scores and engaging with the chat function.

2.2 Chat Conversations

When you interact with our AI assistant through the Extension:

  • Conversations are temporarily stored only while your browser window is open.

  • Once you close your browser window, these conversations are automatically deleted and are not retained on our servers.

  • The content of your conversations is used only to provide you with responses in real-time.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect:

  • Personal identifiable information such as your name, email address, or user ID

  • Your browsing history outside of when you actively use the Extension

  • The content of websites you visit

  • Your login credentials for any websites

  • Any financial information

2.4 Beta Disclosure:

a) The Extension may contain bugs, errors, or other issues that could affect functionality; b) The Extension's features, user interface, and availability may change without notice; c) The scoring system and company information provided are experimental and may not be complete or accurate; d) Beta access requires an invite code, which may be used up to 3 times per user; e) Beta users are offered invite codes when signing up as SafeLife VIPs on http://Safelife.ai ; f) SafeLife reserves the right to terminate the beta program at any time.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Extension

  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends

  • Develop new features and functionality

  • Fix bugs and technical issues

  • Generate aggregated, de-identified statistics about Extension usage

  • Ensure the security and integrity of our services

4. SHARING OF INFORMATION

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We may share de-identified usage information with the following third-party service providers:

  • AWS Lambda and Bedrock: For processing company scores and generating chat responses

  • Mixpanel: For analytics and tracking usage patterns

These third parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and are permitted to use the data only for the purposes of providing services to us.

 

4.2 Business Transfers

If SafeLife is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or uses of your information.

 

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.

 

5. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect and maintain. We utilize enterprise-grade settings on AWS to ensure your data is stored securely. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

 

6. DATA RETENTION

We retain de-identified usage data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

As noted above, chat conversations are only stored temporarily while your browser window is open and are immediately deleted once the window is closed.

 

7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

 

7.1 Extension Controls

You can control your privacy in the following ways:

  • Installation/Uninstallation: You can choose to install or uninstall the Extension at any time.

  • Extension Usage: You determine when to click on the Extension to view company information.

  • Chat Feature: You choose whether to use the chat feature.

 

7.2 Data Deletion Requests

If you wish to request the deletion of your usage data, please contact us at support@safelife.ai. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

 

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

 

9. INTERNATIONAL USERS

The Extension is currently available only in the United States. If you are accessing the Extension from outside the United States, please be aware that information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. The data protection laws of the United States may be different from those of your country of residence.

 

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

12. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.

Your Rights Under CCPA

The CCPA provides California residents with the following rights:

  1. Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.

  2. Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we have collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions.

  3. Right to Opt-Out of Sale: You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. However, we do not sell your personal information.

  4. Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

 

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your rights under the CCPA, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information.

  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

 

We will respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.

 

Information We Collect

As described in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy, we collect de-identified usage information. Under CCPA, we are required to provide California residents with information about the categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which we use such information.

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Commercial information (records of products or services purchased, obtained, or considered)

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information (browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer's interaction with a website, application, or advertisement)

 

We use this information as described in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.

 

Disclosure or Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed de-identified usage information to third-party service providers as described in Section 4 of this Privacy Policy.

13. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that signals websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. Due to the lack of a common understanding of how to interpret these signals, our Extension does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

14. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The Extension may provide information about third-party websites or services. These third parties have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked services. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Extension and welcome any feedback about these services.
